Diannah, Wayne and the Pennington Family: Although I didn't know Layne very well, I remember him when I was a child growing up in Marion. He always had a sweet smile, a big heart, and a giving way about him. He knew my family and always remembered my name...and that meant alot to me growing up. You're in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. God be with you and blessings to you, Susan N. White

Dear Diannah, We were sorry to hear about Layne. We were out of town this past week and did not get Doug Brown's (ODU) message until late Sunday night. We had always meant to stay in contact but time and work always got away from us. I am sorry now that we hadn't kept in closer contact. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you through this time. Linda & Bob

How can we express what Layne meant to so many people and to us. He was a true friend to all who knew him. When I told the boys about his passing they immediately remembered the times he played football with them in the front yard. God bless you all and give you strength to get through this most difficult of times. If we can do anything for you, please let us know. There is a special place in heaven for a man such as Layne. He will be sorely missed. Much love, Heidi and Ed Altizer and the boys.

Although I didn't know Layne well, I remember seeing him often at church with Diannah. It was always good to see both Layne and Wayne at ROPC at the same time---a family affair. My condolences go out to Diannah, Wayne, and all of the Pennington family. Blessings and Peace on this day and those to come, Linda McCord
