Doris, Allan, and Lindy, I just learned of Howard's passing today and am crushed. I'm sorry that I didn't find out in time to attend the service. After knowing Howard and the rest of you for well over 30 years I feel like a member of my own family has passed away. From the good times at the drag stips years ago to visiting with him at Parkway Gas more recently, I have many good memories. Howard was a perfect example of what all men should strive for. He was honest, kind, a hard worker and a friend to all who knew him. My thoughs will be with you.

GOD HAS REACHED OUT AND TAKEN A TRUE SAINT INTO HEAVEN.I WENT TO WORK FOR HOWARD AND DORIS WHEN I WAS THIRTEEN YEARS OLD AT ATKINS GROCERY. I SPENT MORE TIME WITH HOWARD AND DORIS THAN I DID MY OWN PARENTS. I ALWAYS CONSIDERED THEM TO BE MY SECOND MOTHER AND FATHER. I COULD NEVER WRITE ALL OF THE FONDEST MEMORIES IN MY LIFE THAT CAME FROM BEING WITH HOWARD AND DORIS. THROUGH OUT MY BUSINESS LIFE I HAVE USED HOWARD AND DORIS AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT HONESTY AND HARD WORK CAN ACCOMPLISH IN LIFE. LOSING HOWARD IS LIKE LOSING A PART OF MY LIFE. DORIS, NANCY AND I WERE PLANNING A TRIP TO VA. NEXT WEEK TO VISIT WITH YOU. DUE TO MY WORK I CAN NOT GET THERE FOR THE FUNERAL, BUT MY HEART WILL CERTAINLY BE THERE.DORIS, NANCY AND I SEND OUR LOVE AND SYMPATHY TO YOU, ALLAN,AND LINDY AND WILL SEE YOU SOON. LOVE DAN AND NANCY.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing away of Mr. Parks. He was always a very kind and gentle man with a beautiful personality. We remember all the times we stopped for gas and he would stand and chat for awhile, always smiling. I (Joyce)always remembers the times he would pump my gas- he would always almost run to my car and say "Mrs. Sheffield, let me do that for you". So kind and helpful. To Allen and Mrs. Parks and family- we send our condolences and will keep you close in prayer. May God Bless!
