Obituary of Ralph Schwartz

MARION, VIRGINIA: JACK SCHWARTZ, age 85, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in Francis Marion Manor, Marion Virginia. Jack was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion, Virginia. He was an avid sports lover and a member of the Smyth County Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ruth Norman Schwartz; son Ronald Jackson Schwartz; parents, Gilbert and Josephine Schwartz; three brothers, Noel, David and Earl Schwartz and a sister, Sally Goins. He is survived by one daughter, Linda Perkins of Knoxville, Tennessee; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Betty Schwartz of Marion, Virginia; four grandchildren, Tammy Perkins Hall, Travis Perkins and wife, Gina, Kimberlee Schwartz Crewey and husband, Brian, and Steven Schwartz Jr.; great-grandchild, Colton Perkins; one brother and sister-in-law, James "Jay Bird" and Hilda Schwartz of Rural Retreat, Virginia; one sister, Mary Beezy Testerman of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia; sister-in-law, Helen Houck of Marion, Virginia. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, Marion, Virginia at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jonathan Jonas officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
