Obituary of Helen Scott

Ms. Helen (Hodie), (Nan-Nan) Scott passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the age of 88. She was born November 27, 1921 in Washington County, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her spouse Garland Scott, Sr. and her parents, Dave & Mary Moore; sister, Annie Margaret Pappajohn. She is survived by two sons, Garland, Jr. and wife, Paddie Scott, Kenny and wife, Linda Scott, all of Marion, Virginia; grandchildren, Garland Scott III and wife, Chris of Greensboro, North Carolina, Aimee and husband, James Mayfield of Johnson City, Tennessee, Robin Scott of Asheville, North Carolina, Kimberly and husband, Bobby Holman of Atkins, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ashlyn, Mary, Josh, Abigail & Rachel, Jimmy & Mickey; brother, Emmett Moore of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; sisters, Juanita Soloman of Woodmere, New York, Mildred Scott of Marion, Virginia, Betty Jo Bangle of Marion, Virginia; Many special nieces & nephews; A very special friend Helen Meek of Marion, Virginia; Her special dog, Tramp. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with the Reverend William Schoeneman, Jr. and Reverend Harry Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt.
