Obituary of Leah Buchanan
LEAH BONHAM BUCHANAN, 78, peacefully joined her Lord and Savior and beloved family in her new heavenly home, March 25, after a courageous battle with cancer. Leah was surrounded by loving family and friends; and was at peace at the time of her passing.
Leah was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Buchanan, Jr., her parents, Everett and Ruth Bonham, sister, Carolyn Bonham Thompson, and brother, Joe Love Bonham.
Leah was a graduate of Chilhowie High School, Marion Junior College, the University of Miami and had spent time working on her Master's at the University of Colorado.
After completing her education, she was employed by Marion College as an instructor, Bonham Brothers of Chilhowie, and was probably best known as the Bookmobile Driver for the Smyth-Bland Regional Library where she worked for 22 years; where she never met a stranger and made many friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Burkett and husband, Mark of Rich Valley, her son, Lee and wife, Xan of Rich Valley; three grandchildren, Megan Van Horn, Robert Nelson, and Clayton Buchanan; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Royal Oak Presbyterian Church in Marion with the Reverend Alan Gray and Reverend Bill Charles officiating. Burial will follow at the Rich Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Rich Valley.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening March 27 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Seaver-Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
