My father Hugh Rotenberry was Joe's mother Bessie brother. Joe lived with us for a short time when he was in the army. I was the oldest boy, (16 years old) and Joe and I became close friends and I showed him around. I was impressed by his uniform and his life as a soldier. I still have pictures of him in his uniform. I regret that we couldn't keep in touch. I was so sorry to learn of his death
