James C. Rose, Jr. posted a condolence
Wednesday, July 9, 2008
My name is James C. Rose, Jr. I was Memie's first grandchild. I could not attend her services because I wanted to remember her the way she was, the way I remembered her a long time ago before I got too busy to take time for my family. I hope I can be forgiven for my losing touch with my family. I will truly miss my Memie.

Dear family, I never had the chance to meet you individually, but Bertha talked to me so often about you, I feel I know you in a small way. She was so proud of her family and not one of her conversations with me ever ended without her telling me about her family and how much she loved you all. I will miss her phone calls and her sweet spirit. She is in a much better place now, with no pain, nor sorrow, singing praises to God. I will keep her memory close to heart and never forget that special lady. She was one of a kind. God bless and keep you all in this time of sorrow.

I wanted to be the first to say I'll miss my grandmother ("Memie" as I called her since I was a child) and she was the only one allowed to call me "Punkin" since my childhood. I can't speak for everyone but I always thought she would live forever, but she's in a better place now. Everyone feel free to come say goodbye to her as I know she would like that. I can be reached at rrose4@bvunet.net
