Robert was, in my opinion, my dearest friend starting from the 5th grade. We were both new to Marion and quickly bonded. Robert had a remarkable sense of humor, a forgiving heart, and a sharp mind. We continued our friendship when he went away to Georgetown Prep and I to Fork Union, but I let him slip away during our college years. I was in Iraq, serving in the Army, when Robert left us. I did not know he was ill. I am sorry I missed his passing, I am sorry to know he is gone from us as is his kind, loving, and welcoming mother. I shall miss Robert but will honor his memory as I grow older. I will tell what I know of his story to my sons for he was, and always shall be, my best friend.

To the Gailliot family, Although I have not seen Robert since we were in junior high together, I have always remembered him as the kindest, dearest person with a wonderful sense of humor. Reading about his accomplishments in the medical field and his family gave me the feeling that he continued to be that caring, thoughtful person I knew years ago. Please accept my sincere sympathy and know that he is remembered. Joy

To Robert's family; I am so very sorry to learn of Robert's passing. He was highly thought of by my family and especially my grandfather, Everette H. Box and he spoke often of the wonderful surgical skill Robert possessed. He trusted him fully. Unfortunately, my grandfather just passed also, and in visiting his guestbook, I saw Robert's name listed there. My heart was saddened. I lived just up the road from your house in Marion (I'm James Box's daughter)and knew a few members of your family (Robert,Liz, Chris, Dr. Galliot), but I have lived on Maui for a while and seem to lose touch with everyone. Robert was a real sweetheart, could really make me laugh, and was an extremely intelligent and handsome man. I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out especially to the children. Aloha, Kim
