Obituary of Virginia Hassard

MARION, VIRGINIA: VIRGINIA JOAN MORTON HASSARD, age 80, died Friday, November 03, 2006 in Johnson City Medical Center. Though born and raised in Michigan, she had lived the past 14 years in Marion, Virginia. Ms. Hassard was a professional artist specializing in pastel portraits as well as weavings, wall hangings, and arts and crafts. She loved people, enjoyed music and the theatre, and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David Hassard and Carol Clark of Edgewood, New Mexico and three daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Bob Olender of Royal Oak, Michigan, Sarah and Donald Doran of New Providence, New Jersey, and Martha and Dave Demaree of Marion, Virginia. Eight grandchildren also survive. A time of sharing will be held Sunday, November 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel followed by a reception and visitation with the family until 4:00 p.m. Because of the family's tremendous appreciation of the following organizations, donations may be made in lieu of flowers to: Mt.
