Dear Martha, Sarah, Anne & David: I just can't believe she is gone. "She" represents all our parents from our childhood - growing up in Bloomfield Hills - "the happy days" of blissful memories. We would ride our bikes from Satterlee, to Eastover to Rock Spring and Back...day after day - riding down Satterlee was such a HUGE hill...then we'd spend hours in the trees right in the Hassard front yard. We'd go skiing at Otsego and spend time at the cottage. Bettie is right - the snacks were always great - Oreo cookies all the time - but there was also little Heidi and then those squinty sparkley eyes - and that laugh - that great laugh of Mrs. Hassard's when she would laugh and nothing would come out! Those were the good old days. Thank you Mrs. Hassard - while I didn't like posing for my portrait, I just never could believe you'd spend all that time on me and the Balogh sisters! Thank You - I hope you are at peace now and we shall see you again sometime. Love, Nancy

Many fond memories of all of you growing up in BH. We still cherish the portraits of our daughters that your mother did so many years ago. She was a very talented lady. Much love and sympathy.

I have fond memories of Mrs. Hassard, my second mom. Always up for an adventure she'd take us on trips to Cedar Point, the scandalous movie "The Summer of '42", and great summers on Fawn Lake. She had the best snacks and always made me feel warm and welcome. Thank you Mrs. Hassard for playing such an important role in my childhood.
