Hi Karen, Alice and John, I was sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I was keeping up with him through Janet as I see her at Emory and Henry Soccer games. You all are in my thoughts and prayers and I am sorry I didn't get to see you.

Dear Karen: I am so sorry to hear about your dad. It's a shame we live so close and we never talk. Please give Mark and I a call and let me know if there is anything we can do for you. Much Love, Teri

Dear Karen and Alice, I don't know if you remember me, but I was your English teacher in either 10th or 11th grade, and I just found the notice of your father's passing. I am so sorry. I remembered both of you as such good students and such fun people, and I remember your so very talented mom, so even though I didn't know your father, I am sorry you have lost him too. I remember having Karen first, and her telling me so many stories about her little sister, whom she referred to as "mad Alice" so much that later when Alice was in my class, I could hardly keep from calling her that. I remember loving both of your personalities, and how much you added to your class. I had no idea that Alice was so far away. What in heaven's name took you to Oregon?? And I didn't remember that you had a brother John. I know that this is not the normal way to keep up with people, but when I read the notice in the paper, it just brought back so many memories, and I just wanted to say hello, and that I am so sorry for your loss. (I am retired now, but would love to hear from you.)' Ruthie Smith
