Obituary of Georgia Thompson

MARION, VIRGINIA: GEORGIA CATHERINE HARRINGTON THOMPSON, age 79, died peacefully on Friday, April 07, 2006, at Friendship Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Roanoke, Virginia. She was born in Sugar Grove, Virginia to the late John Wycliff Harrington and Stella Whisman Harrington. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore Harrington and Patrick Harrington, a sister, Lettie Gross, and her beloved daughter-in-law, Stella Faye Ford. She is survived by her family that she dearly loved: two sons, John H. Ford, Jr. and his wife, Diana (Rosenbaum) of Stevensville, Montana and Mitchael "Mick/Mitch" W. Ford of Marion, Virginia; two daughters, Kayretha "Kay" Ford of Asheville, North Carolina, and Delania "Dee" Shupe Harrison and her husband, Jim, of Roanoke, Virginia; three grandsons, Rodney Ford and his wife, Darla (Dempsey), Jonathan Ford and his wife, Angie (Matthews), and Jimmy Harrison; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Ford, Cortney Ford, Jacob Ford and Jack William Ford; special friend, Mable Puckett, several cousins, and many friends. Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 10, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. John Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Harrington Family Cemetery, Comers Rock, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, P.O. Box 376, Chilhowie, Virginia 24319.
