To the Family of Mrs Thompson, I wanted to take the time and express my sympathy to your family. Death effects each of us at sometime in our life. But I also wanted to share some encouragement with you from the Bible. These are scriptures that comforted me when I lost my mom. In John chapter 11, Jesus compared death to sleep, and he also said that he can wake people up from death. And in the Gospel accounts, he performed resurrections to show that he could. In speaking of the resurrection, he said "the time is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs would hear his voice and come out." The Scriptures also promise that soon God will completely do away with death.(Isaiah 25:8, 1 Cor 15:26, Rev 21:4) That would truly be a blessing to all mankind because of the pain that death can cause. But in the meantime, we can trust in God to help us cope with the lose of our loved ones, such as your dear Georgia. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to "throw all our anxiety on God, because he cares for you." I hope these few verses have provided you with some comfort. If you would like further information on the resurrection, or why God permits suffering, I would like to hear from you.
