Obituary of Gerald Gordon Widener
MARION, Va.
Gerald Gordon Widener, age 69, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at his home.
Gerald was one of twelve children born to the late Hobert and Ethel Price Widener. He loved his family – and over the years was caregiver for several of his brothers and sisters. Gerald enjoyed playing the guitar and often shared his love of music with friends and family. His caring, nurturing ways will be missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers.
Gerald is survived by his sisters, Freida Osborne and Reatha Harris, both of Marion, Va.; special niece, Shelby Tilson; special caregiver, Pat Atkins; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Burial in Middle Fork Cemetery, Chilhowie, Va. will be private.
