I worked with Chris for many years at Kentucky Derby. He was always such a sweet guy. He loved Beavis and Butthead and even named his cat Beavis. He was always there to help in anyway he could.. I haven't seen him in years but often thought about our time together at work.... Very sad to see him gone. My sincerest condolences to his family...

Hello,
My name is Chris Haynie I was in the Navy with Chris aboard the USS Moosbrugger. I want to say how sorry I am and hope your all's hearts heal some day as i know a piece of my heart is gone forever. Chris was my best bud from the Navy we talked and video chatted quite a bit. Chris and I were like 2 peas in a pod we could talk for hours about anything. I williss his laugh and awesome sense of humor. Again I am so sorry for your lost.

My deepest sympathies to the entire family. This is so sad. We all will miss him so much! I know how much he loved his family. He loved being a dad....
Chris was one of my earliest friends from high school and someone I have the BEST high school memories with! We skipped lunch together every single day! Lol We went to concerts together, we walked along downtown Marion together, and we hung out at each other's houses and with each other's friends together. We were best friends. I was so glad when we reconnected a few years ago and began calling each other and texting again. I only regret I wasn't there with him at the end. I would have been if I had known. He didn't tell me.
I truly loved him. He was my brother. I will miss him forever.

I proudly served with Chris on the Moosbrugger and it was an honor. The biggest thing about Chris that comes to mind first is he always had a smile on his face every time you ran into him. No matter what was going on he had that smile. I'm so sorry for your loss. He's not in any more pain and sailing in a better place. Fair winds to him until we meet again.

To Chris' Family,
I really don't know what to say. Chris and I served together on the Moosbrugger so many years ago. I remember him as a young, honorable man. He worked hard and was always ready to lend a helping hand. I was then, and am now proud to call him my friend and Shipmate. He fought the good fight. You can be proud of him for that. He suffered for a long time, but he is no longer in pain. Please take comfort in that, and know that God will comfort you.
To Chris,
Fair Winds and Following Seas brother. Rest in Peace. You need not worry. We have the watch.⚓⚓⚓
