Obituary of Glenna Sexton Evans
MARION, Va.
GLENNA SEXTON EVANS, age 87, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.
Glenna loved watching preaching on the television, and listening to gospel music. She was retired from Southwestern State Hospital after 30 years of dedicated employment. Glenna will be greatly missed by family, many friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 46 years, Jack Sexton; second husband, Henry Evans; parents, Clarence and Mary Sturgill; brothers, Billy, C.R. and "Whitey" Sturgill.
Glenna is survived by her children, Donna Cassell and husband, Dallas, Johnny Sexton and wife, Connie, Tom Sexton and wife, Betty; sister, Twyleene Sayers; sister-in-law, Florence Funk; grandchildren, Roger Cassell and wife, Teresa, and Brandy Sexton; four great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Attoway Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
