Obituary of Louise Choate Thompson

SUGAR GROVE, Va.

Louise Choate Thompson, age 94, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va.

Louise was a loving wife, mother and granny. She was a life-long member of Elizabeth United Methodist Church and retired as the secretary for Sugar Grove School. Mrs. Thompson was very active in her church and community, and loved her life in Sugar Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.R. Thompson; parents, I.C. and Bertha Choate; son, Joe Thompson; sister, Lois Dutton; and brother, Laton Choate.

Louise is survived by her son, Pete Thompson and wife, Ellen of Tyrone, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Deborah Thompson of Sugar Grove, Va.; grandchildren, Scott Thompson and wife, Mary Beth, Matthew Thompson and wife, Allison, and Julia DeLizzio and husband, Geoff; step-grandson, Zachary Pennington and wife, Jenny; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Elizabeth UMC, Sugar Grove, Va. with Pastor Mike Dixon officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Elizabeth UMC.
