Obituary of Dr. Colin C.J. Angliker
WYTHEVILLE, Va.
Dr. Colin C.J. Angliker, age 80 of Wytheville, Va. died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born on September 5, 1937 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he was the son of Hans William Angliker and Mary Scott Angliker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Robert Mercer.
Colin is survived by his wife, Sarah Nash Angliker of Wytheville, Va.; four daughters, Susan Angliker of New Haven, Conn., Kim Shreeve (Gavin) of Western Australia, Nikki Reavely (Eric) of Hillsborough, N.C., and Keri Jones (John) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; his loving friend and mother of his children, Barbara Angliker Brennan (Chris); step-daughter, Grace Chaffin; sister, Eithne Mercer of County Armagh, Northern Ireland; sister-in-law, Emily Sword of Lebanon, Va.; two nieces and one nephew. Colin was the very proud grandfather to ten grandchildren who have been given countless memories of his love and kindness.
Colin received his medical degree from Queen’s University in Belfast, North Ireland and his Diploma in Psychiatry at McGill University in Montreal. He spent many years as a forensic psychiatrist having worked in Virginia the last 30 years as Medical Director at Marion Correctional Treatment and recently as a psychiatrist at Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute. Colin’s caring and kindness made a him a friend to many people here and across the world.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
