Obituary of Shawn Michael Ring
Marion, Va.
Shawn Michael Ring, age 44, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 in Charlotte, N.C.
Shawn Ring was the kind of guy everybody loved. He was always smiling and seeing the best in everyone he came into contact with…and the list was long – Shawn never met a stranger. His genuine and compassionate way made him a friend to so many people on many different levels. When he wasn’t helping as a nurse or a friend, he enjoyed live music, especially the Black Crowes; and his newfound passion with his twin brother Matthew – volleyball. In fact, he loved volleyball so much, his friends in the Charlotte volleyball community have scheduled the Ring Memorial Volleyball Tournament, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Sandbox in Charlotte, N.C. His gentle way and fun-loving personality will be missed by so many people everywhere.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carolyn Seabolt; and uncle, John Seabolt.
Shawn is survived by his twin brother, Matthew Ring and wife, Melanie of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Christine Ring of Hampton, Va. and Heather Evans of Rockford, Ill.; nephew, Christopher Ring; nieces, Rebekah Ring and Ambriana Evans; girlfriend, Kelly Confoy of Charlotte, N.C.; special family friends the Harris family and the Bodemer family.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 31, 2018 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Walker, Chris Barr, Ed Sause, Bryan Vernon, Timothy Caldwell, John Kirk, Andy Kirk, Matt Anderson and Eric Albano.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian Children's Home of the Highlands, P.O. Box 545, Wytheville, VA 24382.
