Obituary of Glenn S. Body, Sr.

MARION, Va.

Glenn S. Body, Sr., age 65 died Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va.

Glenn Body was a good-hearted man and an excellent musician. Glenn Body and the Blues Cruisers played music all over the country in his younger years – later in life he was a regional sensation. If you knew Glenn, you knew his laugh, his jokes and the fact that he loved holidays and food! Glenn Body loved his family, his music and his friends. His contagious fun-loving personality will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jake Body; mother and step-father, Hilda and Henry "Sonny" Avery; and sister, Cindy Hamilton.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Vickie Body; children, Glenn S. Body, Jr. of Marion, Va., Kiki Body of San Antonio, Texas, and Steven G. Body of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Elaine Winston of Marion, Va. and Freda Roberts of Gettysburg, Pa.; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Tim Winston; and special friends, Wanda Brown Mitchell and Brian Burgess.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Lance Turner officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
