Dear Ones...Sending lots of love to you during this time of celebration of Rosie's life which she seemed to live to the fullest. She spoke with such affection about each of you and the joy you brought to her life. That love she had for you was uppermost in her heart, and I'm sure you are missing her terribly. My family grieves with you. We have such touching memories of Rosie...her thoughtfulness, her kindness, her inquisitiveness about our lives, her commitment to her faith and her church, her love of Jack, her devotion to teaching and her enduring smile. We're grateful for our mom, Joy, introducing us to Rosie and Carolyn way back when and sharing stories about the three of them - three musketeers - during their childhood. It was a real gift spending time with your mom in April when we visited Virginia for my aunt Barbara's memorial service. Whenever I was in your Mom's presence, I always came away feeling loved, affirmed and a bit lighter in my very being. She was one of a kind - in so many ways.
Her positive spirit served her well, and we shall hold her close as you also. Let her life continue speaking to you as you move into your future. The world was gifted by her presence, her laughter, her tears and her concern about humanity. Bravo!
Many blessings and peace.
Linda

I was so very sad to hear about Miss Rosie. I met her through my mother, Jan Thrasher another resident at English Meadows. I always looked so forward to seeing Miss Rosie and her smiling face and her love of life. She was truly a lovely and kind person who was a shining star everywhere she went. I feel very blessed that I had an opportunity to meet, enjoy and love her.
God Bless you all!

Many years ago we had pleasure of meeting and spending time with Rosy. Not sure how old the photo of her is that you all posted on her obit, but she looks very close to how we remember her - sans dark frames, but every bit as beautiful. What a happy smile.
She was a remarkable woman that will always have a special place in our hearts forever
With deepest sympathy

We are so sad to learn that Rosie has died. She was a beautiful person both on the inside and outside — as her lovely photo attests. She and Jack were fixtures at Rich Valley gatherings for as long as I can remember, and I am sure that they will be sorely missed by many people. B Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.

To Rosie’s Family –
Heaven has received another Angel. I go back to the 1950’s with Rosie at Marion High School. She was an angel to the school at that time and continued thru the years to serve God in her own way… Deepest sympathy and prayers to the Calhoun/McCarty family in your loss.

Rosie was my good friend. While we lived in Marion in the 70's we would meet at Happy's for lunch and pray for Gwen's marriage and her children, for Laura's high school encounters, for Jack a godly wife, and for Jamie and Kathy. I was just writing my Christmas cards and found her new address at English Meadows. She sent a letter in August to let us know about her move. We have exchanged Christmas cards for the past 50 years and have kept up on family happenings. Her card was usually the first one we received. She was a wonderful prayer warrior. We had planned to visit her after Christmas. She was such a godly lady and I am honored to have known her throughout the years. I know she is celebrating in heaven, but we will miss her warm smile and loving spirit here on earth.

Dear family and friends,
Many years ago, Rosie came to MSHS and had brief, before school Bible studies and prayer for anyone interested in the student body. I attended a number of these gatherings. Rosie planted a powerful , supernatural seed in my heart and it slowly began to grow. After several years of show business and the ‘free wheeling’ lifestyle accompanying that line of work, that early seed emerged and I could not ignore God’s loving Hand upon my life any longer. That was 1971 and I have never looked back one time. Thank you Rosie for your faithfulness and your amazing life!
The Lord’s ministry has gone forth all over the earth to millions of precious souls through His faithfulness to me through you. Truly a miracle! Rev.Dr.Len Mink

I do believe that everyone I know has a Rosie story, a touching and sometimes pivotal moment in life when things seem to reconfigure and come together in some amazing way. She was the one who brought me to that moment in life and therefore has a place forever planted within my print.
She was so proud of her family. And if you ever needed prayer or had some trial going on, she prayed and stayed...she called or wrote a note, letting you know you were never among the forgotten. She was a whisper from God’s own breath. And she’s home now.
