Very sorry to hear of the death of a classmate and friend for over 55 years. I have many fond memories of Shirley going back to home room in the seventh grade. I can still see her walking from her home to the school across Stage st. Shirley will be missed by many who knew her. Marion is a better town because of her.

It was my pleasure to get to know Shirley when she volunteered many hours at Francis Marion Manor Health and Rehabilation. She was such a nice person and gave back through her volunteering!

I am heartbroken to learn of Shirley's death. We were friends in high school, but had lost touch when I left Marion after college. Thanks to social media, we were able to renew that friendship a couple of years ago and catch up after all those years. I will always cherish our friendship and will miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this most difficult time.

I can't begin to express how much I'm going to miss visiting with Shirley when I come back to Marion, and how much I've enjoyed her spur-of--the-moment messages about what's going on there. She has touched so many lives through her giving spirit and sharing her love of God. You said it well in her obituary. All of you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
