One of my favorite memories of my Uncle JP is that he was a very athletic man. Sometimes when he and Pop Crewey came home from work, JP would throw a baseball with me and the others. I remember that JP could throw a ball what seemed, to my young eyes, about a mile into the air! We kids loved that, trying our best to catch that ball which appeared to soar out of sight. Though we often didn't make the catch, JP would just laugh and throw the ball up another mile.
In later years when I came to visit my grandparents, JP was often there. He always asked about my car - how many miles were on the odometer and whether the car was still driving good. I seem to remember JP and Pop talking a lot about vehicles. I think they both loved their cars and trucks!
