Obituary of Maurice Sternberg

MARION, VIRGINIA: MAURICE "BUTCH" STERNBERG, age 66, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Virginia. "Butch" is survived by his wife and best friend, Sandy Sternberg; two sisters, Tillie and Jackie; two brothers, Pete and William; his mother-in-law, Lorraine Kalb; and several nieces and nephews including a very special nephew, Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Elizabeth Sternberg. In Butch's younger years you'd find him and Sandy on their Harley riding and enjoying their time together on two wheels. If you were a visitor in his home, it would be quickly evident his fascination with Elvis Presley. Butch's Elvis collection of albums, pictures, books, and neat paraphernalia would make any Elvis fanatic jealous. He enjoyed his dog walking time. On any given day you'd find Butch on the porch chatting it up with one of his neighbors on the "dog route". He loved people and people loved his innocent almost child-like happy go-lucky approach to life. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Butch Sternberg will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel in Marion, Virginia.
