Obituary of Susie F. Edmonds

ATKINS, VIRGINIA: SUSIE F. ATKINS EDMONDS, age 90, died Friday, November 01, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jeff Atkins and Boyd "Hick" Edmonds; two daughters, Carla and Becky; two sons-in-law, David and John; and her parents, Charles and Lillie Talbert Taylor. She was the last survivor of fifteen children. Sue loved music and was an accomplished musician in her own right, playing the guitar, auto harp, piano and many other instruments. Many people knew of her talents and she was a contributing musician on a locally produced cd. She never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. She had been a longtime member of First Church of God in Atkins and she loved the Lord. Sue is survived by three daughters, Jeffie Campbell and husband, Bill, of Marion, Virginia, Cindy Rivera-Sneed of Spring, Texas and Anne Reedy and husband, Jack of Spring, Texas; two sons, John Atkins and Randy Atkins both of Atkins, Virginia; three grandchildren, Kenny Osborne, Melvin Osborne and Susan Entwistle and husband, Andy; four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Tina, Jennifer and Ethan; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
