Dear Atkins and Edmonds family, Saddened to learn of Sue's passing. I lost contact with her and most of you over the years but never forgot the times we spent together growing up in Atkins. I still can hear her sing and my favorite song was "And He Did It". She sent me a copy of it many years ago. Our prayers are with you and know you are comforted in knowing she is with the Lord. Rev. I first met the Atkins family when I was 6 yrs. old; Sue & Jeff and their 3 oldest children, Jeffie,Johnnie and Cynthia moved in next door to my family and instantly we became playmates and friends. For the next several yrs., Sue was a significant part of my life and I have so many unique memories of all the things our families did together. We picked wild fruit, (apples, cherries, blackberries and strawberries) and chinquapins, whatever was in season. We went swimming in the creek together; both our families were musical and we had "jam sessions" frequently. One of the biggest influences of my life was attending church with Sue and her children; Sue, Jeffie & I sang together as a trio in church and Sue was the first person to teach me to sing harmony. She was a wonderful, loving, nurturing person and my heart grieves with all her children and friends.
