I regret to say I won't be able to attend the memorial service tonight. Losing a child must be the greatest tragedy anyone must face and endure in a lifetime. It is unimaginable to me how anyone manages to go on. Their being lingers just below the surface in our psyche and the smells, sights and thoughts rush in to remind us of them. I know it’s perplexing to see it now, but somehow you will find a place within yourself that will allow you to continue living with this heartbreaking loss. Even though it seems difficult to recover from this tragedy, somehow you will find a place within yourself that will allow you to carry on. My heart goes out to you, Melba, Chad, Annie and Jace as you deal with this most difficult challenge. I pray God quickly sends comfort to you and Melba as you are dealing with one of the most difficult task a parent can ever face - the loss of one of your precious children. God bless you and your family.

Doug and Melba: My heart is so sad for you and your family. I sat around yesterday remembering when Jean would bring Nick with her to our house and he and Sarah would have such a good time playing. Especially all their tea parties. Oh if we could have them back at that age. I really dont know what would have been different though. Please let us know if there is anything you need.
