Obituary of James Hall

MARION, VIRGINIA: JAMES MAURICE HALL, age 90, died Saturday, November 18, 2006 at his home. He was born June 26, 1916 in Comers Rock, Virginia to the late John W. and Larmie Comer Hall. Mr. Hall had been a very active member of Wharf Hill United Methodist Church. He had been employed with the military police at Radford Arsenal, Fairview Service Station, Service Dry Cleaners, Calhoun Oil Company, Millstone Service Station, was a school bus driver and was a 12 year volunteer at the Settlers Museum of Southwest Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Hurley (Vennie) Martin of Chilhowie, Virginia, Mrs. Bert (Hazel) Sutherland of Elk Creek, Virginia, Mrs. Stuart (Faye) Eanes of Rural Retreat, Virginia and Lelia Hall of Comers Rock, Virginia. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorthea "Dot" Hall of Marion, Virginia; One son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Diane Hall of Fairfax Station, Virginia; Two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcella and Larry Sayers of Marion, Virginia and Ellen and E.C. "Pete" Thompson of Tyrone, Georgia; Seven grandsons, Steve Sayers and wife Kim and Greg Sayers and wife, Jennifer all of Marion, Virginia, Mike Hall and wife, Teri of Indian Trail, North Carolina, Jamie Hall and wife, Nikki of Cincinnati, Ohio, Scott Thompson and wife, Mary Beth of Fayetteville, Georgia, Matthew Thompson and wife, Alison of Neunan, Georgia and Tim Hall and wife, Jessica of Oahu, Hawaii; Two brothers, Raymond Hall of Baltimore, Maryland and Max Hall and wife, Senna of Fries, Virginia; Four great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Wharf Hill United Methodist Church, Sugar Grove, Virginia with Rev. Mike Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
