Obituary of John Grubb

ATKINS, VIRGINIA: RICK "GRUBBY" GRUBB, age 54, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at his home in Atkins, Virginia. Rick worked for Marion High School and Pizza Hut for many years until his retirement. After he retired he worked part time for Pizza Plus. He was a member of the Smyth County Moose Lodge #1004 and had been a longtime member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert E. and Virginia Grubb of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Jimmy and Bonnie Grubb of Atkins, Virginia and Eddie and Denise Grubb of Fort Chiswell, Virginia; one sister, Tammy Grubb Duncan of Rural Retreat, Virginia; several nieces, nephews and a special friend Brittney also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Nouhad Melki officiating. Graveside Services will be held Friday, August 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
