Obituary of Denny Goodman

MARION, VIRGINIA, DENNY RAY GOODMAN, age 64, departed this life at his home on Sunday, August 21, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judie Overbay Goodman and his parents, Gilbert and Helen Goodman. Denny was a truck driver for over thirty years. He was a member of Seven Mile Ford Presbyterian Church and was lovingly known as "Paw" to Sheri and David Payne and their children, Scott and Jessica Olinger, Nora Totten, the Harris Family, Greg, Amy, Angus, Jeremiah and Veronica Long Sexton and son, Chase "Ricky" Hutton and many others. Denny will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James G. and Teresa Goodman; grandson, Jacob Dennis F. Goodman; granddaughter, Kimberly E. Goodman, all of Marion, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law, Naimo and Doug Anderson; brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Ramona Goodman, all of South Carolina; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Overbay and Artie Overbay, both of Marion, Virginia; special aunt and uncle, Betty and David Jackson of Chilhowie, Virginia. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend David Payne and Reverend Bob Thornton officiating. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion.
