Obituary of Kenneth Olinger

MARION, VIRGINIA: KENNETH "TOM" MASON OLINGER, SR. age 73, born September 15, 1937. After a long and hard battle God called him home on Friday, August 26, 2011. He was a beloved husband, father, papaw, and brother. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Olinger; two sons, Kenneth M. Olinger, Jr. and Trenton Allen Olinger of Marion, Virginia; one daughter, Lisa Olinger Gravely of Chilhowie, Virginia; three granddaughters, Jessica Clark and husband Ryan of Chilhowie, Virginia, Robin Doane and boyfriend Jared Hamm of Chilhowie, Virginia, Jordan Olinger of Marion, Virginia; three grandsons, Aaron Cline, Derrick and wife Nicole Cline, and Brennan Djukovich; three great-granddaughters, Madison and Rachel Clark and Kayla Cline; one great-grandson, Austin Cline; three sisters, Peggy and husband Reggie Keesee, Louise Taylor and Jane Rector; one brother, Larry Worley; four sister-in-laws, Mildred Olinger, Sylvia and husband Henry Freeman, Yvonne and husband Paul Sturgil, and Shirley Blevins; two brother-in-laws, Cecil and wife Loretta Blevins and Lowell and wife Betty Blevins. He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Olinger; mother, Josephine Worley; four brothers, Warren "Tinker" Olinger, Charles Olinger, Eugene Olinger and Ed Olinger; special friend and brother Ford Sage. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at Falling Water Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Creasy officiating. Graveside Services will be held Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Ridgedale Cemetery in Rich Valley, Virginia with Military Recognition given by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667 with the presence of the Marion Correctional Treatment Center Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
