Obituary of Hallie Welch
ATKINS, VIRGINIA: HALLIE PENNINGTON WELCH, age 92, widow of Frank R. Welch, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at her home in Atkins, Virginia.
In 1984, Mrs. Welch was The Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in New Orleans and in 1997 she was The Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Chapter #72 in Marion, Virginia. She was a member of the Marion First Church of God on Chatham Hill Road where she sang in the choir for many years.
She is survived by one son, William R. Pennington, Sr. of Laurel, Maryland; two grandsons, Randall Pennington of Atkins, Virginia and Frank Pennington of Winchester, Maryland; two great-grandsons, Troy and Devon Pennington; one great-granddaughter, Carissa Pennington.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Atkins First Church of God with Reverend Nouhad Melki officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Atkins First Church of God.. An Eastern Star, Marion Chapter #72 Order Memorial Service will follow the visitation.
