Dear Carol and Kelly, I asked Ed to hug both of you for me, today. I am so glad we got to see and hug David at Uncle Bobby's funeral. Your number is still in my cell phone, where we gave it to him to call you and tell you he was safely in Ashland. Bless him that he didn't want to fool with a cell phone:). I am so sad for all of you. May it be a comfort to you all that he was loved by so many. You will be in my prayers as you go through these sad days. Love, Patricia

Dave was one of a kind, and the most loveable curmudgeon I have ever known. He had the wit and humor to make everyone laugh and smile during difficult times. He was a skilled architect, caring friend, insightful mentor, and truly a gentle soul. I will miss him dearly, but I am consoled by the fact that he will be looking over all of our shoulders, cracking jokes, and correcting our spelling mistakes. To Carol and Kelly, I am truly sorry for your loss. Please me know if there?s anything that I can do to make this time a little easier for you.

Carol and Family, Knowing Dave these past few years has been a great pleasure. Our jokes about my status as curmudgeon in training always made for a laugh but Dave's influence on me went far beyond the art of curmudgeonry. Dave was always willing to answer questions or help out in the office. His guidance helped me through many, many problems with projects. I owe the man a great deal. I am deeply saddened by Dave's passing and hope that if there is anything you ever need, you'll not hesitate to ask. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Hunter

Dear Family, I was very fortunate to have known and worked with Dave for many years. He was very active in so many of the Town's projects. I guess our last project together was the Estonoa Learning Center. He was so enthusiastic about working with the teen agers from St. Paul High School and allowed them to help with the final design. In my opinion it was one of his greatest achievements in St. Paul. We will all miss his smiling face. He was a great man and I'm sure he will be missed by many. Know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

David had such an amazing personality that was a joy to work with for many years. He always made the best out of the situation and put a smile on my face with his silliness almost daily. I learned a lot from him and life will be very different without him. Our prayers, thoughts and love are with you and your family during this difficult time.

I miss Dave...it's just not the same here without his presence, his laughter, and his humorous perspective on life. He has certainly blessed me and many others with his kindness and his ability to listen and be there as a friend. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with him as well as to know him and to share a few laughs when life got too serious at times.
