Obituary of Kella Ford

MARION, VIRGINIA: KELLA "CHIGGER" FORD, age 103, widow of Vance Burleigh Ford, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Francis Marion Manor in Marion, Virginia. She was a member of Ebeneezer Lutheran Church, a Pink Lady for almost thirty years and a loving aunt and friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Ford is survived by three nephews, Bill McVey and wife, Joan and Locke McVey and wife, Elsie, all of Saltville, Virginia, and James McVey and wife, Kitty of Roanoke, Virginia; two nieces, Patricia Edsall of Montrose California and Ellen Nuess of Hermiston, Orgeon; a special great-niece, Belinda Nichols of Roanoke, Virginia; several great-nieces and great-nephews and a special friend Tony Shazier also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery, Rural Retreat, Virginia. The Family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Francis Marion Manor, Activities Department, C/O Sharon Buchanan, P.O. Box 880, Marion, VA 24354.
