Obituary of Reba Hoofnagle
ATKINS, VIRGINIA: REBA PUGH HOOFNAGLE, age 92, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 in Smyth County Community Hospital with her daughter and son by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, her parents and siblings. Mrs. Hoofnagle took great pride in being a caring mother and devoted housewife. All who knew her will always remember her beautiful yard and gardens and the wonderful meals and hospitality in her home. She was an active member of Davis Memorial United Methodist Church in Atkins.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Logan, and a son, Joseph Hoofnagle and wife, Gail Hoofnagle of Atkins; seven grandchildren— Charles Hoofnagle, Larkin Petralli, Greg Hoofnagle, Teresa P. Mallow, Tracy Eastridge, Heidi Pafford, and Andrew Hoofnagle. Mrs. Hoofnagle's great-grandchildren include: Adrienne Aquino, Cody and Sarah Hoofnagle, Abby and Beth Ann Eastridge, Matthew and Adam Hoofnagle, Charlotte and Josephine Mallow, and Exenia Pafford. Her first great-great-grandchild is Kylie Aquino-Lopez. A special niece of Mrs. Hoofnagle's is Mrs. Pat Berry and daughter, Leah. Mrs. Hoofnagle's special friends were Sadie Repass and Margaret Atwood.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis Memorial United Methodist Church in Atkins with Reverend Bill Schoeneman officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Marion. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel in Marion.
