Obituary of Sarah Hash

MARION, VIRGINIA: SARAH JANE BLEVINS HASH, a lifelong resident of Smyth County, passed away on October 30, 2010 at the age of 82. Sarah was born December 15, 1927 to the late William D. and Mary Ella Blevins. She was employed by The Cato Corporation for 32 years as a District Sales Manager. Sarah was a member of South Fork Baptist Church where she devoted much of her time throughout her life. In addition to her love for serving her church and the community, she enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and cooking. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard C. Hash as well as four brothers: Dudley Blevins, Leon Blevins, David Blevins, and Bobby Blevins. Sarah is survived by her three sons: Michael Hash of Marion, VA, Danny Hash of Atkins, VA, Joe Hash and wife, Jama, of Columbus, OH; one sister, Mary Elizabeth "Biz" Blevins of Swartz Creek, MI; four brothers, James Blevins and wife, Mary of Marion, VA, John L. Blevins and wife, Mary of Marion, VA, Howard Blevins and wife, Gracie Mae of Canyon, TX, Joe P. Blevins and wife, Judy of Marion, VA; five grandchildren: Megan Hash Jordan and husband, Oliver, of Columbus, OH, Brandon Hash of Atkins, VA, Justin Hash and wife, Amanda, of Rural Retreat, VA, Joshua Hash of Columbus, OH, Lauren Hash of Columbus, OH; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Flowers will be appreciated or Memorial Contributions may be made to the South Fork Baptist Church, 215 South Fork Road, Marion, VA 24354. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. at South Fork Baptist Church located at 215 South Fork Road in Marion, VA with Reverend Mark Totten officiating. A private graveside service will follow. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, November 3, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
