Obituary of Ronald Barker

MARION, VIRGINIA: RONALD H. BARKER, age 81, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Virginia. Mr. Barker was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army; a life member of VFW Post # 4667; served with the Army Reserves; retired from Brunswick Defense Plant and a member of the East End Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Tuell Barker; parents, John and Dessie Barker; three brothers, John, Bill and Jack Barker; and sister, Cathy Greear. He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Pamela and Charles Conner and Rhonda K. Barker all of Marion, Virginia; two grandsons, Benjamin and Jonathan Conner; one sister, Pat Schwarz of Stuart, Florida; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 a. m. at East End Baptist Church with Reverend Timothy Parker and Reverend Paul Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia where Military Rites will be conducted by Marion VFW Post # 4667. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 9, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Virginia.
