Obituary of Lois Williams
MARION, VIRGINIA: LOIS GILLESPIE WILLIAMS, age 76, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at her home in Marion, Virginia.
She was born April 1, 1934 in Smyth County to the late William and Valley Parker Gillespie and was affectionately called "Titter" by her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard D. Williams; her sons, Joseph "Joey" Williams and Donald "Davy" Williams; one brother, Harold "Jake" Gillespie; and sisters, Olivene Haulsee and husband, Bill; Mildred Gray Jones and husband, Junior; and Phyllis Ann McGhee and husband, Harold.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn E. Williams of Waynesboro, Virginia; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Williams and two very special grandsons, Joseph and Justin Williams, all of Yadkinville, North Carolina; sister-in-law Mary Creggar and husband, Alfred of Roanoke, Virginia; special friend Sandy Clark of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; special neighbors, friends and caregivers Janet Kirby, Jenny Kirby, and Jerry Ward; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A special thank you to caregiver, Shirley Chatham; and the hospice nurses, Pam Kline, Donna Turpin, Diane Gill, Rita Chrisman, Michelle Duncan, and Dr. Jennifer Quesinberry and nurse Mandy VanHoozer.
Funeral services will be held at Seaver-Brown Chapel Friday, September 24, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Stanley P. Ogden officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel in Marion, Virginia.
