Uncle Sherman I always recall you coming in to Papaw and Granny Langfords house with that pipe and you stood so tall. I always remembered the smell of my great great uncles pipe. How my son is tall like you, i always told him that he took the tallness from you. You will be greatly missed by me and my mom (Janice) and of course papaw and granny. We love you and we will see you again one day. To all uncle shermans kids and great grandkids..He was a very very special man that we all have fond memories of. Its hard to let go but we know he is in heaven. God bless all of you and we love you..(The Langford Family)Wish we could be there with you...Just know we are thinkin of you. Tammy

Hi Popaw, Words can't describe how much you've meant to all of us. Life won't be the same not being able to call you and ask 'what are you doing' and you say 'holding my chair down.' ...or you asking me what are you doing, followed by is that all you've got to do? Everytime Peyton see my phone he wants to call popaw, to continue the daily ritual we've had since he's been able to talk, and I don't know how to make him understand he can't talk to you anymore...so I just tell him you've gone to see Jesus, and he repeats that back to me. Please tell momaw hi and that we miss and love her too. Love, Becky, Brad and Peyton

Popaw, I just want to let you know that I love you very much. You and Momaw were a huge part of my life growing up, and you still are and forever will be. I'll never forget helping you in the garden. All aspects of raising tobacco except spearing it because you were afraid Id spear my arm. Running to you when I got in trouble and you not letting mom do anything to me. Always having juicy fruit gum in your pocket. You saying "You need to put some meat on them bones girl" You calling me and Becky almost every day and if you couldn't reach one of us you'd call the other to see if we'd talked to the other that day. You asking "how's that boy doing" I'm so happy that I was able to get Chasen while you were still with us. Telling you on Saturday that I was ok with you going is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Then seeing you smile when I held Chasen over your bed and he yelled at you is something that I will always remember. Tell Momaw hello, and I will see you soon.

We all will miss Grandpa. I have hundreds of memories of him form the time I was little stripping tobacco in a cold barn to fishing on the New River to the time I was on a tobacco setter and a full barrel of water fell on me. Grandpa was an old man and he held that barrel of water up until I got out from under it. I will miss him.
