Obituary of William Smith
BRISTOL, TENNESSEE: WILLIAM HAYNES SMITH, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 20, 2010 in Select Specialty Hospital.
He was a veteran of W.W. II and a Trustee at Steele Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanch Smith; three brothers, including his twin, Harold; and five sisters.
He is survived by his grandson, David Crusenberry and wife, Tessie; granddaughter Teena Counts and husband, Kevin; three great-grandchildren, Casey, Rachael, and Mathias; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; a special friend, Artis Bently; and his precious church family.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Steele Creek Missionary Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Lyons officiating. Graveside Services will be held Monday, August 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Bristol V.F.W. Pallbearers will be deacons and trustees of the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Steele Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 274 Old Stage Drive, Bristol, Tennessee 37620.
