Obituary of Dorothy Reedy

TROUTDALE, VIRGINIA: DOROTHY ELIZABETH REEDY, age 88 died at her home in Troutdale, Virginia, Tuesday, July 20, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert R. Reedy; parents, Issac and Georgia Shephard; brother Ralph Shephard and a great-grandson Stephen Andrew Burke. Mrs. Reedy was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Troutdale, Virginia. She was known as "Nanny","Grandma" and "Mamaw" to family and friends. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Eva M. and Tommy Harrell of Rockwell, North Carolina; four sons and daughters-in-law, Junior L. and Elizabeth Reedy of Chilhowie, Virginia; Lewis J. and Sherrie Reedy, Thomas H. and Karen Reedy all of Rural Retreat, Virginia; Jackie D. and Helen Reedy of Flatridge, Virginia; two brothers and sister-in-law, Paul and Mabel Shephard of Honeybrook, Pennsylvania and Lee Shephard of Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and many beloved friends and neighbors also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Jerry Fritz, Reverend Otis Barker and Reverend Robert Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Barr Cemetery in Grayson County. The family will receive friends Friday, July 23, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
