Obituary of Alice Parks

SUGAR GROVE, VIRGINIA: ALICE "GIN" PARKS, age 68, died Thursday, May 20, 2010 at her home in Sugar Grove, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas John Parks; brother, Marvin "Cheat" Sheets; sister, Martha "Sis" Morrell. She is survived by two daughters, Opal Graham and husband, Jerry of Atkins, Virginia and Linda "Tootle" Russell of Marion, Virginia; six sons, Bruce Buttrey and wife, Jill of Chilhowie, Virginia, Tommy Buttrey and wife, Millie, Marvin Sheets and wife, Dawn, Bill Parks and wife, Cathy, Ray Parks and wife, Diane and Tommy Parks all of Sugar Grove, Virginia; two sisters, Rebecca Bise of Sugar Grove, Virginia and Connie Hemphill of Leveland, Texas; four brothers, Sherman "Buffalo" Sheets and Raymond Sheets both of Sugar Grove, Virginia, Joe Sheets of Princeton, West Virginia and Willis "Nute" Sheets of Rock, West Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Seaver-Brown Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Herman Cress officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. At the request of Mrs. Parks her body will be cremated. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
