Obituary of Jewel Wagoner
JEWEL SMITH WAGONER, age 68, passed away Sunday April 11, 2010 at her home in Marion, Virginia. She was born December 31, 1941 in Smyth County, Virginia to the late Joe and Evelyn Simms Smith. Jewel loved her family and was a wonderful wife of 50 years to her husband Jimmy. Her granddaughter Emily and son Carlton were the light of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janella Lindamood and her brothers, Roger and Billy Smith.
Jewel is survived by her husband, James "Jimmy" Wagoner of Marion, Virginia; son, Carlton Wagoner of Marion, Virginia; granddaughter, Emily Wagoner of Saltville, Virginia; one brother and sister-in-law, Joe S. and Cindy Smith of South Carolina; five sisters, Shirley Keesee and best friend, David Burgess of Atkins, Virginia, Frances McAmis and husband, Mack of Greenville, Tennessee, Mary Lou Dean and husband, Tim, Donna Baldwin and husband, K.C., Sylvia "Sam" Smith and friend, Marty Cale all of Marion, Virginia; sisters-in-laws, Eileen Robinson, Nellie Cruey, Linda Sasey and Sally Wagoner all of Marion, Virginia and Betty Tuell of Glade Spring, Virginia; brother-in-law, David Wagoner and wife, Dorothy of Marion, Virginia; and her dear mother-in-law, Mabel Wagoner of Marion, Virginia. Many special loving nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Mike Sage officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
