Obituary of Nancy Snavely
MARION, VIRGINIA: NANCY CREGGER SNAVELY, age 73, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at her home in Marion, Virginia.
She was born August 5, 1936 in Smyth County Virginia to the late Wallace and Annie Harner Cregger. She worked for Southwestern State Hospital for many years and later retired from Marion Correctional Treatment Center. Nancy attended Falling Water Baptist Church. She was a member of VFW Post #4667 Ladies Auxiliary, Marion Garden Club, Marion Rebekah Lodge #42 and a member of the Smyth County Community Hospital Auxiliary. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, W. H. Cregger.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Earnest Snavely of Marion, Virginia; one step-daughter, Suzanne Arnold of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one brother, Buford C. Cregger and wife, Judy of Marion, Virginia; one granddaughter, Jennifer Yarbrough and husband, Jason of Lexington, North Carolina; three great-grandsons, Alex, Ethan and Seth; two nephews, Clayton Cregger and Brian Cregger and wife, Brandi all of Marion, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Dot Cregger of Marion, Virginia; a special friend, Jim Frye.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Jerry Creasy officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Graveside Services will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Falling Water Baptist Church, 2206 Highway 16, Marion, Virginia 24354.
