Obituary of Ethel Leonard
ETHEL MARIE KEYES LEONARD age 87, passed away Monday, January 25, 2010 at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Virginia.
Mrs. Leonard was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She was born March 22nd , 1922, in Sugar Grove, Virginia, and was preceded in death by her husband, Richard William Leonard, "the Tom's Peanut Man", two children, - Ricky and Linda, four brothers - Garnett Keyes, Ernest Keyes, Donald Keyes, and Joe Keyes, and four sisters - Viola Keyes Sayers, Omalee Keyes Vernon, Oveda Keyes Profitt, and Elamae Keyes Sawyers.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by her daughter, Brenda Leonard Heath of Greensboro, three grandchildren - Kenneth William Heath and his wife Pamela of Marion, Karen Heath Saad of Greensboro, and Gregory Wayne Heath of Greensboro, one brother, William "Bill" Keyes of Norfolk, and one sister, Thelma Keyes Linkous Smith of Marion.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, and the Reverend Harry Howe will officiate the service following visitation at 3:00 p.m. A private burial will follow in the Slemp Cemetery in Sugar Grove.
