Obituary of Carl Hyman

ABINGDON, VIRGINIA: CARL DAVID HYMAN, age 45 died Monday, December 28, 2009 in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. Mr. Hyman was born September 2, 1964 in East Point, Georgia and was a 1982 graduate of Chilhowie High School in Chilhowie, Virginia. He was a hard working, well liked man who kept mostly to himself. In his later years he lived in Abingdon, Virginia. He is survived by his father Carl D. Hyman, Sr. of South Carolina; daughter, Racquel Sarajane Hyman of Galax, Virginia; son Ryan Scott-Hyman of Marion, Virginia; grandmother, Alice Newton; uncle, Phillip Newton; aunt, Shirley Witt; brother, Joseph Terry, all of Chilhowie, Virginia; and sister Bonnie Atkinson of North Carolina. The family will receive friends Friday, January 1, 2010 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Frank Branson officiating. Private burial will be held at Mount Rose Cemetery, Glade Spring, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chilhowie Christian Church, P.O. Box 21, Chilhowie, VA 24319.
