Obituary of Lillie Blevins

CHILHOWIE, VIRGINIA:  LILLIE OLA “TOMMY” BLEVINS, age 84, died Monday, November 2, 2009 at her home in Chilhowie, Virginia.

She was a longtime member of Rush Creek Primitive Baptist Church of which her husband was pastor for approximately 50 years.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Blevins was preceded in death by a son, Danny Blevins.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Elder Thomas Eugene Blevins of Chilhowie, Virginia; two daughters, Nina Heath and husband, Ronnie of Glade Spring, Virginia and Sharon Owens of Meadowview, Virginia; two sons, Roy Blevins and wife, Betty of Chilhowie, Virginia and Gary Blevins of the home; one brother, Earl Davis of Marion, Virginia; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Rush Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Washington County, Virginia with Elder Larry Blevins, Elder J.C. Hager and Elder Eddie Lyle officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.  Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to Rush Creek Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Gene Malcolm, Treasurer, 7639 Cunningham Road, Bristol, Virginia 24202.
