Jim, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family. I worked with Aleta at the Rescue Mission Thrift store until she got sick. She was such a Blessing to be around. I looked forward to seeing her every Friday for just the few hours I got to work with her. She was an inspiration to many! She was a Godly lady and I'm comforted knowing she's in a wonderful place! I can't wait to see her again...

To Aleta's family, The only one I really knew was Aleta and she was a crowning Jewel! We worked together at the Cookeville Rescue Mission Thirft Store. She was a loving, caring person and a joy to know. I am thankful I had that time with Aleta and Sandra. I had a brief encounter with her husband just before I had to retire from the Thrift Store work to care for my husband; who was also a cancer patient. I found him to be a nice fellow and he made Aleta happy. That was the important thing in Aleta's life. She is now up in Heaven living a perfect life and for that we celebrate! My husband has been up there a little over a year and I am sure he would not come back to this world for any thing, after living a life in such a perfect place for over a year. So Jim the same goes for Aleta. Just think of her as being at home in a perfect place and praise God for it! Just give thanks for the time we shared with her and thank God for that time. She was a joy to know. Winnie Peterson

Jamie, I am so saddened to hear of the loss of your dear wife. I know all too well how deep that loss leaves a void in your heart that you feel will never heal. God can heal all wounds though and as I read several of the shared memories, I took immediate notice of the impact that she had on people everywhere she was for her entire life. What a beautiful legacy to leave her loved ones! That legacy and God's love will comfort you for many years to come as you give thanks to Him for giving her to you for the time you had. The memories and knowing that she so completely fulfilled God's plan for her, truly will sustain you through the difficult times ahead. May God bless and keep you throughout. Sherry

To Aleta's husband, James, whom I never met, Louise and Ernie....I am so sorry for your loss of such a precious soul and family member as Aleta is. I have only memories of her gentleness, kindness and terderness toward any being who was fortunate to have known her. It is a gift that she served in the church and touched many lives as she served God and those who knew her. May she rest in peace after a well-fought fight to regain her health. It is with only sweet memories that I say goodbye to her. God bless you all as you learn to let her go and continue this life knowing God's comfort in tanglible ways. Love, Susan Tate

Dear Jim and family, I thank God everyday that God sent Aleta into your life with His usual perfect timing. Although your time together on earth was brief, many beautiful blessings were showered upon you and upon us as the result of your special union and your abilities to show us what and how marriage-God's first institution- was designed to benefit His creation-us. Thank you so much for your endearing determination and love for our God, for each other and for us. I hope you know just how much the both of you are truly loved.

I went through school with Aleta in Marion. She was always a Godly example to her classmates. Although I have had no contact with her since graduation, I can see from her memorial that her life has been dedicated to the Lord and serving Him. May God bring comfort to your family and may your memories of Aleta be a constant reminder of her sweet spirit.
