Obituary of Earl Miller
MARION, VIRGINIA: EARL KERMIT MILLER, JR age 73, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 in Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Virginia.
Mr. Miller was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was retired from the United States Army and the Commonwealth of Virginia. He was a Life Member of the Marion Life Saving Crew, a Life Member of Marion V.F.W. Post #4667 and a Charter Member of Adwolfe Fire Department. He had been a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Elouise "Miss Ella" Miller.
He is survived by one son, Alan Miller of Marion, Virginia; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary F. and Basil Suits of Konnarock, Virginia; two brothers and sister-in-law, Richard E. Miller of Konnarock, Virginia and Ray and Judy Miller of Lenoir, North Carolina; two grandsons, Sam and Cody Miller; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Dr. Cindy Sutton also survives.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by Marion V.F.W. Post #4667. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Outreach Foundation, 206 Abingdon Place, Abingdon, Virginia 24211, the Marion Life Saving Crew, P.O. Box 784, Marion, Virginia 24354 or to the Adwolfe Fire Department, P.O. Box 1305, Marion, Virginia 24354.
