Obituary of Irene Stone

SUGAR GROVE, VIRGINIA: IRENE JOHNSON STONE, age 72, died Friday, July 3, 2009 at her home in Sugar Grove, Virginia. Mrs. Stone was a devoted member of the Sugar Grove Lifesaving Crew with 28 years of service and a member of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, J. Donald Stone of Sugar Grove, Virginia; two sons and daughters-in-law; Don "Tinker" Stone and wife, Chris and Albert "Porky" Stone and wife, Nita, both of Sugar Grove, Virginia; three sisters, Ethel Johnson of Atkins, Virginia, Violet Young of Sugar Grove, Virginia and Nancy Cook of Chilhowie, Virginia; two brothers, Albert and Bobby Johnson, both of Sugar Grove, Virginia; four grandchildren, Jewel Whitworth and husband Justin, Amanda Crouse and husband Dean, Donnie Stone and fiancée Renee and Joshua Stone and fiancée Jessica; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at Sugar Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Gwinn officiating. Burial will follow in Comers Creek Cemetery in Grayson County, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service at the church.
